We had an unmedicated hospital birth, and she decided to show up without a doctor in the room after a looong time being dilated to a 5. Today was a little bit different than our typical Sunday, since we needed to stay home from church! Today’s Sunday consisted of baths, whipped cream straight into little mouths, lots of oatmeal, FaceTiming each other from different rooms, The Tabernacle Choir on repeat, messy floors, and snuggles.💕 I’m always a little bummed missing church, but am also grateful that we can go over and continue the lessons at home in a more structured way with our church's new home curriculum!
I've always loved studying on my own and getting lots out of the lessons at church, but I'm becoming increasingly aware of the necessity of fortifying our personal Testimonies throughout the week and teaching our kids the foundational aspects of the Gospel. Especially since moving to Texas, I've learned that most of the kids here on the Bible Belt know their stuff! And I love it! I've always been happy and eager to study out different topics on our own {which we continue to do,} but it's so nice to have a structured something that we can teach throughout the year which also coincides with the lessons being taught at church.
I have always felt a big sadness...{or maybe FOMO on the Spirit} missing church. {And the kids do, too!} I know Heavenly Father wants me to be there, and I definitely love being there. It recharges my batteries. Even with babies and meltdowns and madness, learning the Gospel, feeling the spirit, and connecting with others fills me up for the week. I suppose there are some days where it's better for the whole congregation if you're a no-show, though. Like today. And I'd like to think that cuddling with babies and soaking in bath time and little conversations with our 5 kids is something Christ himself would smile upon as Sabbath-day activities.

It's no secret over here that I love shopping on Jane! I've been talking about them for years, but as we roll into the holidays, I wanted to share about how you can experience Jane this season! Last year, I probably bought 50% of gifts {for myself and others, haha!} on Jane, which made things so convenient. {It also couuuuld have been because I was up nursing an adorable baby forty million times per night nursing, but mainly because it was convenient. Hahah!} I liked that everything felt thought out and planned way ahead of time, and all I had to do was wrap it! Easy peasy for this Mama! Over the years, the app has become easier to navigate, and so user-friendly! {I've been shopping through them since before they had an app, so I feel like I can speak on this subject! ;)}
The search feature is also one of my favorite things that they have added, so when I'm looking for something as specific as a "Hallmark Christmas Sweater," if there is a deal close to the description, it comes right up! Or, if I just want to peruse about the shoes or jeans {some of my favorites,} I just type in "shoes" or "jeans!" The deals change daily, so when you see something, snatch it! I talk about this shop so much, that I thought it might be helpful to go a little bit more in-depth about it! Also! Last year as the holidays approached, they had deals that said "Christmas delivery!" Also, if I have ever had a question or issue with my order, a Jane staff member has been so friendly and quick to reply and connect me with the seller! SO, if you are looking for a gift that must be there by then, keep an eye out for those! They also have some that will say "Free shipping" on a banner in the listing picture, which is always nice, too!

Choosing our Motherhood

One of the things I love most about Motherhood is the ability to take our own experiences, good or difficult, and use them to decide how we will raise and love our own children. Even though the stewardship we have over our homes, jobs, homework, activities, and all the other responsibilities of “adulting” can feel like a large weight to bear at times... I can’t help but to think about when I dreamt of this, prayed for this, and longed for the day I could have the sacred responsibility of shaping and loving little humans.💕 “She was one of the kind that likes to grow up. In the end she grew up of her own free will a day quicker than the other girls.
