Shop Changes

Thank you all so much for your sweet support on our baby news!:) I'm grateful for the friendships that have come from this little community!:) When I started this little business a couple of years ago, I didn't foresee all the amazing people I would get to meet or the fun experiences it would bring! With a new baby comes new changes not only in my family, but for this shop! I'll have more on that later, but as I've kind of talked about before when my shop went on vacation for the holidays: business can always be there, but little chubby hands and tiny voices that call for "Mommy" grow way too quickly! This New Year, my word is "Simplify," which also means that I will be taking a step away from making jewelry to give everything I can to 5 kids ages 5 and under, and this will be shifting to more of a lifestyle space. I've always wondered where I could have a place to meet new friends, share recipes and my amateur love of photography and film, and whatever else seems relevant, so I hope you join me on this journey that's focused on Motherhood and relationships! I'm so grateful to each of you and for the interactions with the coolest people that have joined me here @thedaintypear! Happy New Year's Eve! I hope each of you find joy, love, and purpose this coming year!

It's a little bit of an adjustment, no matter how much sense it makes or how right it is, to take a break from something that you put so much heart and effort into! There is something wildly satisfying about creating something from start to finish with your hands and seeing it be used and appreciated by others!🔨 But, I guess in my own way, I AM making something and putting my heart into it. Heart, energy, and stomach! Haha!:) {With our first four, I had pregnancy sickness the whole pregnancy, throwing up until and on delivery day with each one. It included lots of IV's and pushing through it while taking care of the other babies at home. Luckily we know these sweet blessings are worth every bit of it!👶🏼} I'm so full of gratitude. Maybe TMI to share with thousands of people and the interwebs?! Hahaha! But we're all friends here, and I know I'm not the only Mama who goes through that, OR who is just trying to do her best and make the best decisions for their family; and I love the community here of support and women raising each other up! Every Mama is rocking it in their own way, no matter how inadequate we may sometimes feel! There are still some giveaways with jewelry that were planned pre-shop decisions, so keep an eye out for those!:)🍐 This baby is already so loved!💕 I look forward to interacting with you guys in a different kind of way, but one that I hope you know always comes from a genuine place of love, gratitude, and real-ness!:) #thedaintypear #tdpmotherhood

Fun News from The Dainty Pear!

We are so grateful to be sharing that we are having our 5th baby! Being a Mama to what will be 5 kids ages 5 and under brings so many emotions, but mostly gratitude. There is a lot that will be changing around here! The Dainty Pear has been a labor of love and fun for the past couple of years, and I don't want it to go anywhere, but there will be some changes! More on that soon! So grateful for everyone who I've met through this fun small business journey, and grateful for these sweet kids and a hubby who is the best!:)

Newport Food Roundup!

In October, we went to one of our favorite spots for my Hubby's 30th Birthday! These are some of our favorite restaurants, and I hope you love them if you get to try them, too! Feel free to add any to the list!:) One that we love but didn't get to go to on this trip is called "The Beachcomber," located in Crystal Cove. It's a quaint place on the beach with delicious food, and here are some more!

JAVIER'S:

This is one of my FAVORITE Mexican restaurants ever. It was my Hubby's first time, and I was raving about everything. Even the bathroom is so pretty and unique! Hahaha! I always go for the Ceviche {the white fish one} as an appetizer, and I did the Enchiladas Suizas for the Entree! SO. GOOD. And really, I couldn't even finish it all because the chips and salsa are so dang good. Javier's is located in the Crystal Cove Shopping Center on the Newport Coast Highway. {Near Trader Joe's, and Babette's!}

BAKING BETTY'S:

At the Fashion Island Mall, there is a little cookie place in the food court! COOKIES! I would choose cookies over cake any day, so I was stoked. The Owner was the one helping us, and she was super sweet! Loved getting to meet her!

WATERLINE:

We were staying at the Balboa Bay Resort, and tried the restaurant for breakfast! Such a good decision, because it was DELICIOUS! I think I have a problem with ordering Eggs Benedict, because I seem to order it almost every time. On a mission to find the best Eggs Benedict in Newport Beach!;)

CHEESECAKE FACTORY:

Of course. Because Cheesecake Factory is always a good idea! Haha!:) I got some sort of Ahi tuna salad, and it was delicious! I usually go for a dish that has salmon, mashed potatoes, lemon, asparagus, and capers, which is amazing. It's not on the menu all the time, but they are willing to make it sometimes! I'm super low-maintainance at restaurants, so I feel bad even asking, but it's worth the ask if they have it!:)

STARBUCKS:

We aren't coffee drinkers, but I love a good Starbucks. During the fall/winter, Peppermint Hot Chocolate is my fave! Since it was still warm in California, they had a sangria herbal tea that I got bubbly with ice! It was super yummy!

DISNEYLAND:

Oh man. Disneyland has some pretty good food! This will have to be a whole separate post, but these Turkey Legs are always a must-eat!:)

TRADER JOE'S:

This one might seem funny, but it's a tradition. When we stay in the area, we love to go here and get snacks! Since it was October, they had the yummy pumpkin cookies, which is what I'm snacking on here. If we have a fridge, I will grab yogurt, fruit, and applesauce for snacks/breakfast. I like keeping some dry snacks in the car for when we're driving or sight-seeing!:)

BABETTE'S:

My favorite. For real. When we're home, I dream of these Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon and Potatoes. It's kind of amazing. We tried the hummus, which was also SO good! They also have fresh-pressed juices and breakfast smoothies.

SETTEBELLO:
This is super yummy! They also have one in Salt Lake, but I still like going to the one in Newport Beach! I like getting a bunch of appetizers! The cheese platter is SO good, and comes with a delicious fig jam. Prosciutto is one of my favorite foods, and it is super delicious here, and these bacon-wrapped figs were yummy too!:)

RUBY'S DINER:

These are everywhere there, but we took a moped and went to the one by Balboa Island, off the pier! This Chocolate, Strawberry, Fudge Shake was oh so delicious, and their fries from a paper bag are DELISH, too!:)

AUTHENTIC THAI RESTAURANT (I can't remember the name! It's in Balboa Square! It was really yummy, though! This is the only picture I got. Fresh spring rolls with shrimp.)

 85 Degrees C:

Holy cow. This might be one of the best kept secrets. It's located in the Jamboree shopping district, which is full of Asian restaurants, grocery stores, etc. It is PACKED, but worth it! The milk pastries are IN-credible. Some of our best friends whose daughter came to live with us last summer introduced us to it, and it's so good. Don't mind the puffy face, we went to get these after getting massages. Asian Massages are no joke. Hahaha!

BON APPETITE!:)

Light The World

I haven't been on Social Media very much this month, and we are a little bit late to the Light The World Advent, but here is Day 8 from our kids!:) Haha! The theme for today is, "Jesus prayed for others and so can you." One of the prompts on the calendar is to pray for a way to be the answer to someone's prayer. I'm trying to help my kids be involved with things and wanted to make a little video of their candid answers! I learned a lot, but mainly that my kids have been using prayer as a means to communicate with Santa! Hahaha!:) If you haven't heard about the Light The World Advent, it's all about small acts of love and kindness. Mormon.org has videos and a calendar of activities! The Small Seed has also done such a great job with cute ideas! The project stems from lds.org/mormon.org, which you can find HERE!
